Commitment and health

Commitment is 3/4 of the way to success whether you want to get in shape, shape up your business or change your whole life.

Commitment means, to stick to your idea, focus, concentrate, make a plan and follow it, no matter what. Commitment requires to train your concentration and focus. Commitment can be very easy if you take yourself first. Then, you are driven by an inner voice rather than just struggling with your mental ideas of what you should do. A day with a total lack of energy is a sign. Maybe you need a break. Or are you fooling yourself and follow the wrong path? Maybe you get a cold. Maybe a depressive mode kills your energy. Signs are there to show you the way. Commitment is great as long as you still read the signs on your path. And if you don´t come up with your daily goals one day, don´t feel bad but refuel your system and get back on track the next day with full power.

People who are more committed to their mental ideas than to their inner voice are at higher risk for health problems.

Change your thinking

Here is the deal: if I enter  a meeting with fear of failing, I probably have a hard time, not to fail.

If I see myself succeeding by telling the truth and go for a win-win situation, there is a big chance to succeed.

Conclusion: Expect the best and visualize the perfect outcome in order to provide best possibilities to succeed :)
We humans have an inbuilt prevention-plan: we better don’t expect the best so we don’t have to deal with hurting disappointment. I suggest: dare to expect the best and be flexible in interpreting the outcome. In case anything goes wrong: at least you dared and you might have learned something about it.

Why is change so difficult?

Our thinking patterns are effected by genetics, education, conditioning….
We may experience “automized” thinking and feeling reactions that seem out of our control.
We attract what we are used to. We expect situations, things, emotions to happen the way we have experienced before.

To “change your mind” means to continuously be aware of what and how you think and willingly jettison thinking patterns that no longer serve you. Especially the way you think and feel about yourself.

Train yourself to consciously decide to think what fits for you today!

Prepare for Winter

Get your i-pod ready with inspirational audio programmes and uplifting music that makes your heart beat higher and put your sneakers right next to the door. Whenever you realize some negative thoughts or feelings related to lack of light, cold weather, lows take a quick decision:  Just do it without thinking twice: out there and move your body!!! You may jog or walk, as long and intense as you feel like, just do it!

This is how I do it: winter in Mallorca is smooth and yet humid. Those days I felt uncomfortable – bones feel humidity, circulation slow, cold hands, thinking: gosh, winter is coming! So I take my i-pod, put my jogging shoes on and go out there – what counts is that I do it today, no matter how long, intense, walk or jog.

In case you don’t manage yet, no problem!! You have just realized that your mind is sabotaging you by finding excuses.

And that is a great step!!!
